Capping off an exciting 11th season of the NBA Entertainment League, the Nuggets won the Championship 71-63 over the Cavaliers on Saturday, April 12, at Crossroads School in Santa Monica, CA as part of "Super Saturday" presented by Wrigley's™ Doublemint®. The Nuggets came out strong and led by 11 going into halftime. But the Cavaliers, bolstered by Will Ferrell (Anchorman), Donald Faison ("Scrubs"), and James Lesure ("Las Vegas"), battled back to within two points. The Nuggets responded with a pair of clutch three-pointers by Texas Battle (Coach Carter) to surge ahead for the win that allowed other Nuggets stars such as Drew Lachey ("Dancing with the Stars") and Morris Chestnut (Boyz n the Hood) to earn their first ever league title. Following the day's basketball activities, Wrigley's Doublemint presented the league's wrap party which was attended by celebrities such as Jamie Foxx, Brody Jenner, Stacy Kiebler, Terry Crews, and Jaleel White. Donald Faison Cavs and League MVP Faison took home the honors of league MVP on Saturday for his role in helping lead the Cavs to the NBA Entertainment league finals. Commissioner Shane Duffy spoke of Faison stating, "he exemplifies the high standards promoted in the NBAE. He not only deserves to be recognized for his achievement as a player, but as a motivator and a true ambassador of the game of basketball". Rookie of the Year went to Sam Daly (Nuggets) and Playoff MVP went to Lamont Ferrell (Nuggets). Congratulations and great season to all those who participated in landmark season 11.
