MARCUS WILLIAMS SELECTED TO PLAY
IN 2007 T-MOBILE ROOKIE CHALLENGE
AND YOUTH JAM

East Rutherford, NJ- New Jersey Nets guard Marcus Williams, the team’s Number One draft pick (22nd overall) in the 2006 NBA Draft, has been selected to play in the 2007 T-Mobile Rookie Challenge and Youth Jam on Friday, February 16 at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas.

Marcus Williams has been selected to play in the 2007 T-Mobile Rookie Challenge and Youth Jam. For the season, the rookie has been a major contributor off the bench, averaging nearly 7 points and 3 assists.

Williams, a 6-3 product from the University of Connecticut, will be re-united in Vegas with former college teammate Rudy Gay, now in his freshman campaign with the Memphis Grizzlies. Joining the two former Huskies will be Jordan Farmer (Lakers), Andrea Bargnani and Jorge Garbajosa (Raptors), Randy Foye (Timberwolves), Paul Millsap (Jazz), Adam Morrison (Bobcats) and Brandon Roy (Trail Blazers).

Williams has appeared in 42 games for the Nets, averaging 6.8 points and 3.0 assists in 16.5 minutes per game while shooting 41% from the field and 87% from the free throw line. Williams posted a career-high 27 points at Phoenix on November 24.
