Scouting Report:
Strong as a bull yet surprisingly quick, particularly with his hands, Artest broke through to a new realm in 2003-04, achieving All-Star and All-NBA status while earning the league's Defensive Player of the Year award. An absolute lock-down defender, few players have the ability to score on him one-on-one because of not only his physical traits, but an uncanny sense of anticipation. Offensively, he can be overpowering in the low post and is effective off the dribble. The one area of his game that remains a work in progress is his 3-point shot. A career .314 shooter from the arc, he was at .310 last year. His intensity sometimes bubbles to the surface but he has made major strides in containing his emotions and, as he continues to mature, should only continue to improve.
